What’s even better than spending a day at the Southern Vermont Art and Craft Festival? How about also getting free admission to the Bennington Museum?
On the weekend on August 2-4, visitors to the Southern Vermont Art and Craft Festival will receive a voucher for complimentary admission to the renowned Bennington Museum with purchase of a Festival ticket. At just $8 adult admission to the Festival (and only $5 on Friday!), this is an excellent excuse to make your visit to Bennington a full Art weekend getaway.
The Bennington Museum is open 10am-5pm daily (through October), is wheelchair accessible, and has free on-site parking. Special exhibitions this summer include Fields of Change: 1960s Vermont, Color Fields: 1960s Bennington Modernism, and Color | Gesture: Early Works of Emily Mason. The permanent collection includes the largest public collection of Grandma Moses paintings in the world, Bennington Pottery – From the Beginning, Early Vermont History and Firearms, Gilded Age Vermont, Contemporary and Outsider Art, and more in 14 galleries located in downtown Bennington, Vermont.
The Southern Vermont Art and Craft Festival is located at Camelot Village and features over 120 fine art and craft Exhibitors selling their own handcrafted creations, with a special section of Specialty Food and Spirits makers. There is live music, great Festival fare and beverages, and special activities from local organizations including the Art Bus with children’s art projects. Parking is free and convenient, and although you could rush through in a couple hours you will likely want to plan at least a full afternoon to browse and have some time to relax in the dining tent with a local brew while the band plays!
Make the most of this great offer and come enjoy southern Vermont at one of its finest times! While Vermont is known for it’s Autumn foliage, experiencing the Green Mountains at their greenest is topped only by the array of incredible artworks on display in Bennington on the weekend of August 2-4!
